Ever wondered what it?s like to be on a cruise ship during a tropical storm? Passengers on various cruise ships docked in Hamilton this week were in for a potentially wild ride as Tropical Storm Harvey approached.

Mark Vereb, 49, from Hartford Connecticut, was aboard thewhich finally left for the US yesterday afternoon.

?The storm interrupted our cruise to St. George?s? he said. ?We?re all trying to realise that it?s an act of God ? you can?t control weather. There is nothing you can do about it so you just have to kind of wing it!?, he said.

Although the liner was unable to dock in St. George?s on Wednesday, Mr. Vereb and his party did make it to the historic town. ?The biggest problem has been needing two taxis because there are so many of us?, he said. ?The cabs are clean and comfortable ? and so are the drivers.?

?Where we come from the taxi drivers just take us from point A to point B but here they?re like tour guides.?

Fortunately Harvey seemed to have treated cruisers rather well. ?We had no problems, we didn?t even know there was a storm ? we felt nothing on the ship?, said 64-year-old Iris Solnick.

?Actually we?re really happy to stay another day in Hamilton. We?re really lucky - it?s a beautiful little place?, she said.

Norwegian Cruise Line passenger Robert Yodoff, 88, cruised to the Island three years ago but never reached Hamilton ? because of bad weather. ?We?re very happy and pleased with the ship we?re on - the service is wonderful? he said.

?Our cruise ship, the , is out at St. George? said 39-year-old Ken Morine who was on vacation from Tyngsboro, Massachusetts with his wife and three children. ?We didn?t even know the storm was there ? the only way we did was because of the sturdy way the boats were tide up and the rain. Other than that we were fine.?

?We didn?t know it was a storm ? I slept through it?, said Tammie Hawkins, 43 of Portsmouth Virginia. She was on board the along with her mother and aunt.

Similar words were echoed by Fred Tinsley, 51, on the with his wife and two sons who joked: ?Four slept through it and then the fifth asked ?what storm?? ?

?We were tired because we were out yesterday shopping and in fact, we?ve just recovered now to go to the beach.?

Rachel Konstantin, from Connecticut said she and the rest of her pals weren?t even thinking on such gloomy terms ? they just let the good times roll.

?We didn?t even notice the storm, we were having so much fun? she said.

However, not everything on the was unaffected.

?They did have to cancel some parties and lots of tours got cancelled? said Terry Kennedy, 45 year old from Billings, Montana. However he said things ran smoothly. ?It was alright ? nothing out of the ordinary happened.?
