Student goes back to class
on the sidelines.
But a question mark still hangs over whether or not Tianna Paiva will be able to earn enough credits to allow her to smoothly transfer from S1 to S2 at CedarBridge Academy at the end of the year.
Tianna started classes at CedarBridge on Wednesday morning, after her story appeared in The Royal Gazette .
She had returned from school in Canada on November 27 after housing arrangements for her there fell through. But she was forced to wait before she could start classes at CedarBridge -- despite being accepted -- because school officials said she had to wait until a new semester began at the school on January 31.
However, Ms Paiva reported yesterday that she received a call from the school on Tuesday afternoon and Tianna went back to school on Wednesday.
But whether or not Tianna will be able to make up the credits she has missed before the end of the school year is still in doubt.
Ms Paiva said she was told by school officials that her daughter would have to play catch up next year.
But she said: "I am not willing to do that. They have wasted so much time getting Tianna back into school when she could have been back in December. It is up to them to do something now.'' Ms Paiva said she has contacted the school's principal, Kalmar Richards, and hoped to meet with her to discuss the matter.
