A micro economy has evolved on the Island because of the huge volume of lawyers brought in from London on the case.
A total of 25 of London's finest were over for the case. Of these there were eight prominent London lawyers have been staking their careers on the legal action. Many had to give up the options of lucrative partnerships in London for the duration of the case.
Gabriel Moss QC, was representing the liquidators, he was assisted by Claire Montgomery and three other senior lawyers.
Robin Potts QC, and Martin Moore were representing individual defendants.
Elizabeth Gloster and Richard Millett were representing the corporate defendants.
Michael Croxford, QC, Geofrey Vos QC and Robert Miles were also involved in the case. David Alexander, son of Lord Alexander was also participating.
With them they have brought their aides, secretaries, juniors, stenographers, husbands, wives and children.
Expenses are rumoured to be astronomical, with free meals, daily allowance and housekeeping included - as well as renting some of the prime properties on the Island.
They will now be returning to their homes in England for Christmas, leaving a hole in the Bermudian economy and an empty purpose-built court room in Court Street.
