Police are again appealing for people to lock up their homes after a spate of burglaries across the Island.

Several homes were broken into between Wednesday and Thursday some of them were unlocked when things were stolen.

The first burglary happened around 7.45 a.m. on Wednesday at a Rose Gardens residence in Warwick. The unknown culprit stole a quantity of cash.

The second burglary happened around 8 a.m., also on Wednesday, at a Rebecca Road, Southampton residence. Someone stole an HP laptop computer and a digital camera charger. Around 7.20 p.m. on Wednesday a black Honda Air Blade motorcycle, license BN 421, was stolen as well quantity of cash and Nikon D90 camera from a residence on Friswells Lane in Pembroke.

Around 11.30 a.m. on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Tribe Road, Devonshire residence.

The complainant said sometime between 10 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. someone gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied and stole two Dell laptop computers. At 12.45 p.m. on Thursday, Police were called to a Camden North Road, Paget because cash was stolen from the residence on Wednesday.

Motorcyclist injured in crash

A 27-year-old Southampton man sustained injuries to his face and right hand after being involved in a single vehicle collision.

The man is in stable condition in a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The accident happened at 3.15 a.m. on Tuesday on Middle Road in Paget near the junction with Chapel Road. Police report the man was travelling west on Middle Road when he lost control of his cycle and fell to the ground. Inquiries are underway.

Man attacked in Southampton store

Police were called to a disturbance at a Southampton store on Wednesday afternoon but a man who had been attacked declined to talk to officers.

According to a Police spokesman, the incident at Just Rite Enterprises on Middle Road was reported around 2.55 p.m.

"It appears that the victim, a 24-year-old Sandys parish man, was being chased through the premises by a group of unknown men. However, the Sandys parish man managed to flee the store and make good his escape in a car," he explained.

"The victim sustained a laceration to his back, a bump to the head and a swollen right hand. However, he declined to make a formal complainant and wished no further Police involvement in the matter."

Jewellery, laptop taken in burglaries

A quantity of jewellery was stolen from a home on North Hill in Pembroke.

Police received a call around 7. 30 p.m. on Tuesday from a home owner who stated that someone had broken into her home sometime between noon on Sunday and 7.30 a.m. Tuesday.

In a separate incident, a St. Mary's Road, Warwick residence was broken into sometime between noon and 3 p.m. Tuesday. The culprit stole a Toshiba laptop computer.

Inquiries into both incidents are underway.
