Inmate's traffic charges to be served with current sentence
A Westgate inmate pleaded guilty to a series of traffic offences when he appeared in Magistrates' Court.
Michael Desilva, 30, admitted to failing to stop for Police and using fraudulent licensing documents last year.
He also admitted to driving a motorcycle with defective brakes and having no licence and third party insurance.
Desilva is currently serving a four-year prison term after committing an undisclosed offence. His earliest release date is in 2012. All the offences were committed before he was sent to prison.
Magistrate Juan Wolffe sentenced Desilva to ten days imprisonment and two demerit points for having defective brakes; 25 days in prison and five demerit points for failing to stop for Police officers and 75 days and two demerit points for no third party insurance.
Mr. Wolffe also ordered him to spend 25 days in prison and two demerit points for both offences of riding an unlicensed motorcycle and fraudulently using documents.
All these will run concurrently to his current sentence.
