Men charged with barbershop attack
Two men appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday in connection with an alleged attack on a barbershop employee.
Neither Earl Ingemann nor Rasheed Muhammad, both of Sandys, were required to enter a plea, as the offences are indictable and must be heard by a Supreme Court jury.
Ingemann, 20, and Muhammad, 17, were jointly charged with causing grievous bodily harm to Rashid Ebbin at a Flatts barbershop on November 28.
The pair were also charged with possession of offensive weapons, namely a baseball bat, a knife, a machete and mace.
A third suspect involved in the incident is still at large.
Ingemann alone faces three charges stemming from an incident on July 25 – causing grievous bodily harm to Mr. Ebbin, possessing a knife taped to a three-inch pole in public and uttering threatening words to the defendant.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released Ingemann and Muhammed on $10,000 bail plus one surety.
They were ordered to report to Somerset Police Station daily, and to stay away from Mr. Ebbin or any potential witnesses. They were both given a curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. while Ingemann was told to find suitable housing.
