Two bikers hurt in collision; jeep hits wall and overturns
Two men suffered head injuries after their motorcycles collided at the intersection of Middle Road and Vesey Street.
A Police spokesman said that officers responded to the accident at around 2.25 p.m. on Saturday.
The spokesman said: "Details about how the collision occurred are unclear, however it appears that one of the motorcycles was travelling west on Middle Road when the vehicles collided."
The rider of that motorcycle, a 28-year-old Devonshire man, suffered head injuries, while the other rider, an 18-year-old Devonshire man, suffered injuries to his head, shoulder and leg.
Both men were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH) for treatment where, as of press time last night, they are both in stable condition.
At around 11.20 a.m. on Sunday, Police responded to another accident at the junction of North Shore Road and Barkers Hill in Devonshire.
The spokesman said: "It appears that a jeep was travelling west on North Shore Road when the driver, a 66-year-old Pembroke man, lost control and collided with a wall, causing the vehicle to overturn."
The driver was taken to KEMH for treatment of abrasions, but when he was released from hospital he failed a breath test and was arrested for suspicion of impaired driving.
