Hospital organises ‘fine wine’ tour

The new Acute Care Wing at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Bermuda Hospitals Board is laying on free public tours as well as a paid fundraising tour of the new Acute Care Wing.

One tour will feature hors d’oeuvres and fine wines and others for small groups.

Slated for Friday, August 22 between 6.00pm and 8.30 pm, the Tour d’oeuvres will cost $50 and all proceeds will benefit the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust.

“We are very pleased to host the fundraising event but will also hold free tours,” said BHB president and CEO Venetta Symonds.

“We take our responsibility to serve the entire community very seriously and free tours of the new wing will be available to the general public so that everyone has the opportunity to see first-hand, many of the facility’s features. Demand for tours from the general public has been extremely high and BHB is working hard to facilitate everyone whilst at the same time readying the building to start service in September.

“The new wing is state of the art and will enable better healthcare for everyone in the Island. We are delighted to show the community the new building where our most sick will receive the best possible care.”

Only 200 tickets are available for Tour d’oeuvres event. Those interested can call 239-1690 or email Dean.Parris@bhb.bm

Free public tours will held on Saturday, August 23 from 10am to 5pm and on Sunday from noon to 5pm. The tours must be booked in advance as there are limited numbers.

Residents can call 239-5550 or email events@bhb.bm and list three preferred dates and times. Tours can be booked for a maximum of two people, no strollers will be allowed, each tour is 30-minutes.
