Non-Mariners stabbing suspect given bail

Pembroke resident Jahfari Raynor appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with stabbing a man at Sunday’s Non-Mariners Race.

The 23-year-old, from Overview Hill, pleaded not guilty to unlawfully wounding Rayheim Smith while in the ocean at Mangrove Bay during the popular annual event.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released Mr Raynor on $10,000 bail with a like surety until he stands trial on October 20.

He is forbidden from contacting Mr Smith or any other prosecution witnesses and must report to Hamilton Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
