An elderly woman was in critical condition in intensive care yesterday after she collapsed in Hamilton.

The woman, 94, from Hamilton Parish, became ill in the area of Court Street and Victoria Street at about 1.20pm on Tuesday.

She was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance after treatment from Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service and ambulance staff.

Police, who appealed for witnesses, said there were no suspicious circumstances.
