Tomorrow’s Voices gets help from Clarien

Clarien Bank volunteers yesterday devoted their time to helping local autism support charity, Tomorrow's Voices.

Thirteen employees at the Bank, including Clarien CEO Ian Truran, spent their morning cleaning and painting the charity's facility, located on Happy Valley Road in Pembroke. In need of updates and improvements to better meet the needs of its clientele, Clarien volunteers helped to paint an art room and library for children between age two and 21 who utilize Tomorrow's Voices' services.

Other volunteers included:

Michael Paynter

Karla Trott

Tawana Fox

Dante Richardson

Angelique Simons

Charmika Gibbons

Melanie Gauntlett

Conor McLaughlin

Qian Dickinson

Jeannie Usher

Courtney Kromer

Carla Martin

Tomorrow's Voices opened its doors to young people with autism or on the autism spectrum in October 2007. Offering a unique curriculum, the non-profit's programmes help children strengthen their critical language skills, functional activity and socialisation, among other skills. Last October, Clarien Bank also donated $10,000 to help with the charity's operating expenses.

Mr. Truran said: “Clarien is honoured to partner with Tomorrow's Voices to revamp part of its space, making it more appropriate and enjoyable for their clients. We value the critical services this organisation provides to children on the autism spectrum in Bermuda and hope our small contribution will benefit these young people for many years to come.”

All Clarien Bank employees are given an opportunity to participate in one GiveBack day a year. Each quarter, the bank chooses a noteworthy project on the Island, which aligns with its commitment to improving the lives of Bermudians and strengthening the local community.
