The Arboretum will come alive in just under two weeks as many runners and walkers are expected to take part in one of Bermuda’s most attractive race and walking events. This year the venue has moved from St. George’s.

The family-friendly Annual Eye Institute Classic Run and Walk will commence at the Arboretum on Sunday April 14th and will take runners and walkers on a varying course along middle road and past ocean view golf course.

Families are encouraged to participate. There is a shorter 1-mile race for children starting at 8.30 am with the 5k for adult runners and walkers following 30 minutes later.

The Eye Institute Classic is a fitness-themed fundraising event which encourages participants to get fit for a good cause. The event brings together people of all ages and fitness levels who thrive on the opportunity to exercise for charity.

T-shirts and goody bags will be available for the first 300 participants. Draw prizes include an airline travel voucher and two bicycles.

The guest of honour will be the Deputy Governor Mrs. Alison Crocket.

The Skills Development Program is an excellent training and Development Opportunity for young people who are interested in learning about horticulture. The program delivers the skills, knowledge and experience that will assist in making the participants suitable for employment opportunities in both the public and private sector. The Skills Development program is closely affiliated with the Garden Club of Bermuda.
