Thompson has attracted 16 senior teams, an increase in four from last year, and the new twist includes eight teams in a junior division for youngsters under the age of 12.

Matches will be held at the Cedar Grove and Southampton Glebe field with the youngsters to get things started with a noon kick-off.

North Village Red play Wolves at Glebe and Devonshire Colts face BAA at Cedar Grove in the opening Group A games.

In Group B at 1 p.m., Crossroads take on Hotels at Glebe and Southampton go against North Village White at Cedar Grove.

Matches for the big boys run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in four groups of four.

After the round-robin format, the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

In Group A at 2 p.m., Youth Select meet Southampton at Glebe and Genesis International go against BAA at Cedar Grove.

In Group B at 3 p.m., College Boyz tackle In & Out at Glebe and The Fall take on Somerset at Cedar Grove.

In Group C at 4 p.m., KPMG play Team Champion at Glebe and Ireland Rangers face Valley FC at Cedar Grove.

In Group D at 5 p.m., defending champions Dandy Town open against Forties at Glebe and Internationale meet Paget at Cedar Grove.

The one major rule change does not allow for the ball to be played over three lines in the air. As there are no offsides in this competition, this rule is designed to discourage unimaginative play.

North Village will host a seven-a-side tournament at Bernard Park every Wednesday night from July 14 to August 25.

Registration is today at North Village at 6 p.m.

Teams expected to participate are the Commercial Division Rams, the First Division side, Alliance Division side, Junior Division side and the Bantam Division side.
