titles in the Kitty Michael International Invitational Ladies Golf Tournament which wound up at Belmont yesterday.
But under the rules, the Island's 10-strong team could only claim one prize -- the net.
The local team, comprising Valerie Nearon, Judithanne Astwood, Judy Kitson, Katyna Rabain, Irva Robinson, Pat Morgan, Shirley James, Glenda Todd, Bea Williams and New Willits, carded a three-day net total of 635 under the three-best-ball format.
Puerto Rico finished second on 638, while Southeast Florida weighed in third with 645.
On the gross side, Bermuda, the defending champions, finished on 721, a whopping 30 strokes better than Southeast Florida.
But it was the latter who claimed gross honours, ten shots ahead of Jamaica (761) who in turn finished three ahead of Baltusrol from New Jersey (764).
Southeast Florida's Sharon Pauly finished with the tournament's individual low gross score of 233 while Barbara Flam of Montreal's Summerlea club carded the low net score of 209.
The 54-hole tournament, being hosted by Bermuda for the second time in its 17-year history, was played at Belmont and Riddell's Bay.
