Coaches urged to attend BFA meeting
meeting with all junior and senior level coaches (First Division, Second Division, Commercial Division and Women's Division) next Tuesday at Young Men's Social Club, starting at 6.30.
BFA general secretary David Sabir said the meeting was an important one for the future of the sport, the intent being to discuss coaching and development programmes in the broadest of terms.
Included in this evening's discussions will be the sponsorship of seminars and other courses to promote and improve coaching on the Island which, said Sabir, "would in turn have a positive effect on the sport.'' "I would hope they'd leave (the meeting) with a sense of commitment to the future development of the sport and a willingness to work along with the positive plans to be instituted by the BFA and develop a better understanding of how important they are to the future of football,'' added Sabir.
In addition to hearing from members of the committee, those in attendance will also be able to participate in an open forum.
Meanwhile, the BFA's coaching certification programme continues next week with a `C' licence course beginning at Saltus Field on Tuesday at 6.30 p.m.
The nine-day course concludes with an assessment on July 1 from 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Port Royal Football Club will hold a meeting for all current players and those wishing to play for the club next season, at Frog Lane Field this evening, starting at 7.30.
