at Vesey Street on Saturday afternoon.

Ponder Dawn, a filly by Hoe Down Dawn and out of Ponder Babe, won both heats of the 1:28 and slower time bar.

And in second place was Michael DeCosta's Grand Fire, a colt by track record holder Grand Shady.

The 14-year-old stallion Nateway, driven by Dal Vasconselas, made his first start of the season and won the first heat of the Junior Free For All, beating out Meteau Design and Grand Magic.

Veteran stallion Grand Magic, driven by `Killer' Compagnon, won the second heat with Meteau Design, driven by Murray Terceira, again forced to settle for second. Nateway placed third.

On a day which saw a number of close finishes, probably the most exciting race was the 15th when the start truck stalled and couldn't get up enough spped to get away from the three entries.

After the restart, Tell Me About It, driven by Chris Wells, went on to win with L/A Erma Time (David Lopes) a close second and Ponder Babe (Michael Roberts) third.

Eddie Roque was again the day's top driver with four wins while Michael Roberts had three.

This will be a busy week for harness racing with a holiday card planned for Thursday and racing again on Sunday. Post time will be announced later.
