It's a family affair for Flatts
Flatts 198-7 Uncle and nephew Rodney Woolridge and Dwayne Leverock combined to maintain Flatts' good start to the season with a three wicket win over Eastern Counties rivals Cleveland at Devonshire Rec. on Sunday.
After Leverock, who joined Flatts this season from Police, claimed five for 28 from 9.3 overs of left arm spin, Woolridge stroked 74 not out from 11 boundaries to seal the victory with three wickets intact.
Cleveland were given a good start when Carlton Smith (18) and Allan Douglas put on 54 for the first wicket. Douglas went on to top the Cleveland scoring with 52 while captain Aaron Adams hit 31 and Curtis Jackson 19.
Leverock slowed up Cleveland's charge in the middle order with some important wickets while Mike burgess supported with two for 24 from six overs. After losing Gershon Gibbons with just 26 on the board, Rodney Woolridge helped lay the foundation with Millard Bean (32) before wickets went cheaply in the middle-order, including Troy Dean, Leverock, Mike Burgess, Quinn Outerbridge and Derek Wright before Rahji Edness contributed 17 not out in an unbroken eighth wicket stand of 31 with Leverock.
Andre Smith claimed two for 32 and Gregory Talbot two for 38 for Cleveland.
Social Club 113 Southampton 117-2 Only three players reached double figures as social Club were dismissed for just 113 by Southampton Rangers, who won comfortably by eight wickets at Southampton Oval.
Thomas Brangman and Shawn Spencer put on 55 for the first wicket, but other than Cecil Tucker's 33 at number five, no other batsman made much of a contribution as the score quickly went from 55 without loss to 65-6. Spencer was high man with 39 while Brangman scored 19.
David Saltus was outstanding against his former team, claiming five for 25 off 8.4 overs to lead the Rangers bowling while Carl Garzette took four for 31 in nine overs.
Keith Wainwright helped himself to 64 against the Social Club attack while Olin Jones scored 26 not out and Arthur Singer 12 not out.
Somerset beat Somerset Bridge by five wickets at White Hill field, dismissing Bridge for 85 and replying with 86-5.
