Kyle, Shawn move closer to targets
20-goal targets for the season with their English clubs when both netted over the Christmas holiday.
Both players found the net on Boxing Day as Rotherham and Walsall scored comfortable home victories. Rotherham beat Bradford City 3-1 as all their goals came in the first half, including a seventh minute penalty by Goater which took his tally for the season to 17 in league and cup matches.
Lightbourne continued a good scoring streak of late with two goals in Walsall's 4-0 home win over Barnet on Boxing Day which enabled Walsall to move ahead of Barnet and into third place in the Third Division standings.
Lightbourne scored in the 48th and 64th minutes and added another on Tuesday (74th minute) as Walsall had a 2-0 away win over Rochdale to remain in third place. The three goals in a 24 hour period moved Lightbourne onto 16 goals for the season.
On Saturday, Rotherham are at home to Cardiff City before travelling away to meet another Welsh team, Wrexham, on Monday. Walsall are at home to Doncaster on Saturday and then meet Wigan away on Monday.

CYCLING CYC Christmas Day festivities failed to deter over 40 cyclists from showing up for the Boxing Day Ride.
The `fun' ride, taking in four laps of a 25 mile loop course was designed to give riders the opportunity to complete a `century ride' (100 miles) before the end of the year. However, there were many who preferred to just take in the shorter distances.
Under near perfect weather conditions -- overcast, cool and with minimal wind -- a mixture of experts, novices, women and juniors set out from the flag pole on Front Street, remaining together for the first 25 miles before the peleton began to separate.
Eventually it came down to seven cyclists who completed the 100 mile course, including one woman and a junior.
Organiser Greg Hopkins later regarded the event as a big success, one which bodes well for the Bermuda Bicycle Association (BBA) as it approaches the 1995 season.
It was noted that cycling events during 1994 saw an increase in participants in all categories, a trend that he hopes will carry over into the new season.
He added that anyone could become a member of the BBA by completing a membership form available at The New Winners Edge or The Sportseller .
BOWLING BOW Action continued in the Miller High Life Bowling League with most teams taking to the lanes prior to taking much needed time off for the holidays.
Spoilers, however, elected to take an early vacation rather than face league leaders Tool and Equipment, with only two of their members showing up.
Equipment thus seized the opportunity to improve their games' differential, winning 30-0, with Dean Lightbourne notching a 604 series that aided his side to a high team series 2,755.
On a night for lopsided victories Dr. Pepper took a 24-6 victory over Franklin Travel as David Abraham registered a second high individual series of 625 and third high game of 233. Team-mate Loddy Holder aided with a 610 series.
In other matches Marlboro, behind the top individual game and series of 243 and 636 by Doug Hines, crushed Stevedoring Services 25-5, Thompsons similarly outgunned New Mix Ups 25-5, while Lite Ice cooled the heels of Team Spirit 29-1.
