Organised by the Bermuda Union of Teachers, the race gets underway from outside the Butterfield and Vallis building on Woodlands Road at 9.00 a.m.

Entries closed yesterday but will be accepted at an increased fee tomorrow morning. Race numbers should be picked up at Sportseller in Hamilton between 10.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. today.

GOLF GLF Hamilton Kiwanis are staging a charity golf tournament to raise money for Warwick Secondary School's Library Fund and to help finance a mobile wheelchair for well-known former golfer Maurice (Bill) Pitt.

The captain's choice event will be held at Ocean View on Saturday, February 25, with a shotgun start at 8.00 a.m.

The entry fee will be $225 per team which includes green fees, golf carts and lunch.

POOL POO There remains little room at the top of the Bermuda International Pool League as three teams are level, each having 10 wins against two losses.

Swinging Doors I, Vasco I and Hamilton Parish I are responsible for the logjam, but Doors have a slight edge, having earned the most points -- 2,533 compared to 2,489 and 2,405 for Vasco and Parish respectively.

In a surprise result, Parish defeated Doors in their latest match 180-177 spurred by a perfect score of 50 from Dion Burgess, while Mike Zimmerman notched one of his own as his team, Vasco, squeezed by Robin Hood I 190-183.
