Photo focus on Aussies' Test victory

journalist and cricket commentator Mike Coward to produce a pictorial of the recently concluded Cable and Wireless Test series between the West Indies and Australia.

An agreement was signed in Kingston, Jamaica at the conclusion of the series with Jamaican firm, Ian Randle Publishers who will release the 110-page book in October.

The book will feature colour and black and white photographs from both the one-day internationals and the four Tests, which Australia won 2-1 to establish themselves as the cricket world champions. For that reason the book is expected to have significant interest in Australia, as their series victory was the first by a visiting team in the Caribbean in 22 years. The book release will coincide with the start of the Australian season.

Brooks is acknowledged as the Caribbean's leading cricket photographer. He has been associated with the Barbados Nation newspaper since its inception and his photographs have appeared in that paper since 1980. His photographs have also appeared in a number of cricket books as well as magazines internationally.

This will be his first book.

Coward is a senior cricket writer who has worked for various newspapers in Australia, including The Sydney Morning Herald, and was a commentator for the satellite network PSN which covered the tour. He is also author of several books on cricket, including Caribbean Odyssey 1990 which covered the last Australian tour of the West Indies.

CRICKET CRI North Village's Commercial Cricket League team will hold a training session at St. John's Field tomorrow at 6.00 p.m. All players are asked to attend.
