Rangers in need of another revival
might first want to consider their 1997-98 season.
In that campaign Rangers lost their first four matches in the league before bouncing back with seven wins and seven draws in their next 14 matches, which was good enough for a fifth place finish.
They find themselves in a similar predicament four weeks into this season... without a win after four games and languishing deep in the relegation zone. They broke their slump in 1997 with victory over then league leaders Vasco, and tomorrow will attempt to end their losing streak against another top team, Dandy Town.
And with three teams going down this season, Rangers know now this is as good a time as any to start winning.
Town see Sunday's match as an important one too, as it will be their last outing before meeting Wolves in next Thursday's Martonmere Cup final.
Wolves have failed to win their last league and cup outings and coach Dennis Brown was clearly not a happy man as they crashed 3-2 to his former team, Somerset Trojans, in their last match.
Tomorrow Wolves play Village at Bernard Park, their third meeting in three weeks and one that Wolves desperately need to win in order to boost confidence ahead of their first Martonmere final. Rahji Edness of Village will miss the match because of too many yellow cards.
Boulevard will look to bounce back from their 6-1 hammering at the hands of Vasco last weekend when they host Somerset at St. David's. The Trojans looked threatening against Wolves and were deserving of their victory, but now assistant coach Gary Mallory would love to put one over on his former team who have in their ranks ex-Trojan Lamaul Crofton.
With Vasco and Colts having their match postponed last night, PHC have the opportunity to take over sole possession of first place when they meet bottom team St. David's at Somerset.
