Renegades roughed up by Blues
overwhelming the struggling Renegades with a stirring second-half performance on Sunday.
Late replacement John Clutterbuck -- normally a back row player -- had a field day on the right wing, finishing three flowing moves by scorching down the flank for three tries.
Other Police scores came from tries by Dave Bird, speedy prop Dave Lunn, Mark Adams and Dickie Cubbin. Alan Oliver botted a drop goal and shared the kicking duties with Tim Carr to complete the 45-3 rout. Renegades' only score came from a Tom Dixon penalty goal.
Teachers just did enough to defeat Mariners 15-6. Andre Simons had an uncharacteristically poor day with the boot, landing only one penalty from several attempts. Declan O'Loughlin was on target twice with the boot for Mariners who, despite being a strong side on paper, still fail to put it together on game day.
Heath (Rocket) Robinson showed lethal finishing by outstripping the Mariners defence to score.
Reds' skipper Alvin Harvey sealed matters with the decisive try which was converted by Ross Webber.
