Smith first in five-miler
running scene on Sunday evening when he outpaced an 80-strong field to win the annual North Shore five miler.
Smith won in a time of 26.08, finishing well ahead of second placed Tracy Wright who clocked 27.00. Jamal Hart was third in 27.07 and Kevin Tucker fourth in 27.16.
Earlier in the day Smith had run two 5Ks as he teamed up with cyclist Greg Hopkins to win the Duathlon team title.
His North Shore victory was his second in shorter distances since winning the May 24 race, having also triumphed in last Sunday's Bermuda Regiment five miler, which he won in 27.33.
Top female runner in the North Shore event was was Jennifer Fisher (31.11), who like Smith had earlier run the Duathlon, pairing up with Maggie Hateley to win the women's division.
Debbie Sullivan was second in 31.57 and Anna Eatherley, racing on the roads for the first time in more than a year, finished third in 33.24.
