The Bermuda Junior Golf Association (BJGA) squad emerged triumphant from the weather-plagued Tournament of Champions in Alliance, Ohio, winning the overall

Leading the way was Robert Spurling who came from five strokes down entering the second round of the senior division to take a one-stroke lead. He was eventually named champion as further play was halted due to lightning and thunderstorms.

In addition, David James, Chris Smith and Aaron James -- all leading their respective age groups at the conclusion of the second round -- were all declared winners.

Spurling, the winner in 1994, began the event poorly, carding a first round 79, but warmed to the challenge to post 75 the next time out despite difficult conditions brought on by high winds.

Meanwhile, Aaron James' brilliant scores of 79 and 80 gave him the Under-11 age group crown.

Smith, likewise, jumped to an early advantage and finished eight shots ahead among the 12-14 group, while David James won the 15-16 division by three shots.

Additionally, Spurling also won the longest drive competition with a 289 yard shot and was closest to the pin.
