The third in a series of meets featuring riders from the US east coast was held on Sunday at Coney Island as brother and sister Jared and Angie Keunntjes

The Florida pair did not have things their own way as Jared had a first, fourth and third in the 80cc class to finish third overall with 33 points. His sister started with a fifth and added two fourths for 22 total points which placed her fifth in the 125B class.

Aaron Pace ran wide open in the 125B races as he put some distance between his pursuers Otis Ingham, Duprey Joell and Justin Belboda. Pace lapped the field on his way to two first places, but a decision to ride in the 250 class in the final moto enabled Ingham (2-5-1) to pip him for the top spot on the day.

Ingham totalled 33 points in the closest finish of the day as only three points separated the top four riders.

Jared Keunntjes had a good start in the 80cc when he won the first moto.

However two good finishes by Steven Panchaud in the second and third motos (first and second) enabled him to take top spot for the day with 39 points.

Jimmy Lee Weaver was second on 35 points, starting out with a fourth before adding a second and a first.

Howard Paynter took his moto wins to 39 after another hat-trick in the 125C class. Carlston Burgess was second and Ali Hatterley third.

Gary Cann won the first 60cc moto in the absence of Jakai Brimmer. And though Brimmer bounced back to win the second and third races, Cann hung on for top spot with two seconds for 39 points for the day. Brandon DeSilva was second with a second and two thirds.

The season closes out on Sunday with the Pepsi National Finals.

TENNIS TEN After a day of rain, Bermuda's under-14 tennis team returned to action yesterday at an international tournament in Barbados.

And the news was good as far as the girls were concerned, as Zarah DeSilva and Danielle Downey each moved into the semi-finals on Friday. The boys weren't so lucky, as Jonathan Wardman lost to number one seed Pierre Rudda of Trinidad 6-1, 6-2 and Jovan Whitter lost to number two seed Jonathan Hart 6-1, 6-4.

But Downey won her second straight match, 6-2, 6-4 over Surinam's Whitney Renfern, while DeSilva split two matches, losing to Hannah Pritchard of Great Britain 6-4, 6-2 and winning 6-1, 6-1 over Michelle Ward, also of Surinam.

Downey finishes a match today against Anna-Lee Bryant of Barbados but is guaranteed a spot in the semi-finals, as is DeSilva. The two could meet in the final.

Both girls and boys play doubles today.
