Vasco open Friendship defence
when they take on struggling Hamilton Parish at Devonshire Rec. tonight (9.00) in the Friendship Trophy.
Vasco, who won the league, FA, Friendship and Dudley Eve titles last season, will be heavily favoured against a Parish side who sit on the bottom of the table without a league win.
At the other end of the standings, Vasco are in second place and virtually assured of a place (top four) in the Dudley Eve competition over Christmas and New Year.
Three teams, Southampton Rangers, North Village and Boulevard, are already through to the next round of the Friendship and Vasco will be eager to join them.
Parish have played well at times without getting results but they will have to show a big improvement on Sunday's 4-1 loss to Devonshire Cougars in order to get past the defending champs.
In tonight's 7.00 opener, St. David's take on Social Club in the Shield competition for Second Division teams. Wolves, now in the First Division, were last year's winners so new champions will be crowned on April 4 at the final.

Raiders, the only team in the league with a perfect record, won by default over Valley who failed to show for the match at Shelly Bay Field.
The tie for second place was broken when Belco went down 3-2 to Devonshire Lions while Exiles hammered Somerset Extros 9-2. Goals by Craig Brangman and Marlon Lindsay of Belco were overshadowed by goals at the other end by Jason Simons, James Rayner and Ernest McCallan. Exiles proved too strong for Extros, hammering nine as Craig Critchlow and Blaine Tucker both scored hat-tricks.
Antoine Cannonier (2) and Craig Tyrrell (one) were the other scorers. Shannon Burchall scored an own goal in Extros cause. The Bermuda Pest Control-Wolves Pack match also produced 11 goals as Wolves romped to an 8-3 win. Casey Burgess (3) and Neville Green (2) led the Wolves scoring while further goals came from Kavon Trott, Paul Douglas and Gary Peniston.
Charles Wade's first half opener for St. George's All-Stars against nine-man Devonshire All-Stars proved in vain as Devonshire hit back to win 2-1.
