Steede was aided by a four hit performance from Rueben Bean that contained two triples, a double and one RBI.

Rob Eastham did all he could to aid in the run chase, collecting three hits and two RBI in a losing cause for Skandia, while team-mate Harold Hoeg notched two hits and two RBI.

Paul Williams ended as the winning pitcher, with Eastham saddled with the loss.

RUGBY RUG The disciplinary committee of the Bermuda Rugby Football Union (BRFU) will meet early next month to mete out punishment for Mariners Second XV captain Peter Vosvenieks.

Vosvenieks was sent off by referee Kim White for stamping last Saturday, but is off the Island so a hearing cannot be held until his return, BRFU president Peter Borland and disciplinary chief Peter Stubbs confirmed yesterday.
