Sailing in the single manned Optimist Prams, Carvelho has competed in a fleet of 39 in the beginners' division while Henderson has been in the 100-strong advanced group.

In the first two races, Carvelho placed third and sixth, while Henderson was 76th in his first outing. Results of races since then have not been made available.

For Carvelho, the trip marks his first venture to the regatta, while Henderson is making his second appearance.

Offering guidance is premier local yachtsman Peter Bromby, who has accompanied the pair as coach.

Racing began on Tuesday and was due to finish yesterday.

BOWLING BOW Buy and Sell continued their domination of the Barritt's Sportsmen's League with a comprehensive victory during latest action at the Warwick Lanes.

Their most recent victims came in the form of Young Blood, who they downed 21-6, spurred by a 224 game by Jim Godwin which contributed to a second high team series of 2,681.

Social Club also surged to an emphatic win, as they defeated Warwick Whites 20-7 behind a solid team effort.

In more closely contested affairs Pembroke Juniors, with team high series of 2,810 and high game of 958, got past Sparks 16-11, while Warwick Reds edged Mini Forwarders 15-12.

Sparks' Mike Lambe did all he could to help his team against Juniors, rolling the night's high game (246) and series (634). But his solo efforts were not enough as Juniors' main weapon, Antoine Jones, offset his achievements with a 244 game and 602 series and got additional help from team-mate Dean Lightbourne, who weighed in with a 243 game.

For Warwick Reds, Leon Smith was the top gun with a fourth high series 598, while Steve Wales replied with a 600 series for Mini Forwarders.
