Tech Netts climb to top of the table
Data Tech Netts thrashed winless Lady Rams Too to knock Warwick Panthers off the top of the Senior Winter League netball standings at the weekend.Led by Gina Benjamin’s astonishing 85 points, Data Tech stormed to a 95-7 rout against bottom side Lady Rams Too at Bernard Park as the lead changed hands for the second time in as many weeks.Kimale Evans chipped in with ten points in Data Tech’s big win that pushed her team past Panthers on goal difference. Lynnique Castle led the scoring for Lady Rams Too with three points.Elsewhere, Panthers cruised to a comfortable 67-12 win over Young Men’s Social Club Blazzin Bluebirds who slumped to their third los of the season. Deborah Deshield poured in a game-high 40 points for Panthers and received solid support from Wenda Roberts who added 18. Akelah Hendrickson and Maiia White both scored five points for a Blazzin Bluebirds side that failed to live up to its name.Data Tech and Panthers are the only unbeaten teams in the league.Defending league champions Lady Bluebirds bounced back from a rare defeat against Data Tech in the previous round with a comfortable 50-18 win over SS Warriors. Danielle Raynor led Lady Bluebirds’ charge with 35 points while Salina Bascome replied with 15 for lowly Warriors.Claiming a fourth win of the season were Signworx Netts who beat SS Tigers 41-34. Danielle Onyia poured in 32 points for Singworx while Jahkenya Trott (21) and Rose Richardson (13) accounted for their team’s total points.Robin Hood were also among the weekend’s winners, edging Lady Rams 45-39 in an evenly fought match. Katie Brown (23) and Abbie Caldas (13) led Robin Hood scorers.In Under -5 League action, Netts White hammered Bluebird Young’uns 33-5. Donnauri Robinson led Netts White scoring with 24 points while Keizhari Knight replied with 10 for Young’uns.In the other Under-15 match Nu-Art Superstarz got past Netts Greens 30-12. Sondae Woods-Bell top scored for Superstarz while Shanae Smith replied with 12 for Netts Greens.In Under-12 League play, Cougar Cubs defeated Netts Green, Netts White beat Devonshire Colts while Lady Rams got past Baby Bluebirds.
