Rainfall 15 inches below normal

A bit more of this please .....

Despite a stormy winter, Bermuda has received more than a foot less rainfall than usual during the past year.Government hydrogeologist Mark Rowe said it could be considered “dry weather, but not a drought”. “Rainfall for the last 12 months to this point in March is about 15 inches down.”Mr Rowe said it usually takes three successive months with rainfall of less than two inches total to create a water crisis, in which water truckers start to accumulate back orders.“Fortunately, we had near average rainfalls in December and January. Certainly people with small roof areas relative to the number of occupants who regularly purchase water under normal circumstances have had to purchase much more in February and March, and the demand is continuing to build.”According to the Bermuda Weather Service, the Island’s one-year norm for March 23 is 57 inches of rain; this year it stood at 42.4 inches.Useful web link: www.weather.bm
