Pressure still on Town says skipper Ming

Dandy Town winger Damon Ming insists the pressure is still on his side to get a result against North Village in tonight’s Dudley Eve match at BAA Field, although both sides are set to advance.North Village thrashed St George’s 5-1 in their opening group game, and with Town drawing against the East Enders, St George’s will be hoping Village do the same to Town as they did to them. With goal difference set to play a part should the champions get a victory, Town know a loss by no more than four more goals will see them through.Ming believes his side will come out for the win regardless of the maths involved.“Knowing we are pretty much through doesn’t make it any easier, they are playing some very good football at the moment so we have to be wary of that,” said Ming.“If we can get ourselves sorted out quickly in the game then it should be a good one.“We are coming off a bad result, a result that we thought would have gone our way, so we are looking to bounce back with a positive result.”Town will be looking for the win to boost their confidence after a surprise opening weekend league loss at home to Boulevard.“The weekend wasn’t beneficial for us in a sense we lost our opening league match, so it’s important for us to get back on track and we have to get on our game plan and not get sidetracked with their game.“Last year we had the better of them but the year before that they got us, so we both know what the other is capable of. The previous game will go out the window.”In the second match of the double-header, Devonshire Cougars and Southampton Rangers will play out their final group game with both sides already advancing from the group.Cougars thrashed PHC 6-2 in their opening match while Rangers beat PHC 5-1 in their opener fixture, setting up a clash for the top of the group.North Village and Dandy Town are scheduled to kick off at 7 pm, with the match between Rangers and Cougars kicking off at 9pm.
