Charity Cup set for next weekend
The 2017-18 football season will start on Sunday, September 3 when Robin Hood and PHC, the league and FA Cup champions, meet in the Charity Cup at Goose Gosling Field, with a 5pm kick-off.
Robin Hood won a first league title last season under Kyle Lightbourne, while PHC clinched an 11th FA Cup after beating North Village 1-0 after extra time in the final.
The Dudley Eve competition, involving the top six teams from last season, will start the following day, Labour Day, with two group matches at the same venue. Boulevard will play Devonshire Cougars at 3pm while North Village will meet Somerset in the second match at 5.
On Sunday, September 10, Robin Hood will play Somerset Trojans and PHC will meet Devonshire Cougars in a double-header at Bernard Park starting at 3 and 5.
The final round of group matches will take place at Police Field on September 17, when PHC play Boulevard and Robin Hood take on North Village.
Robin Hood, North Village and Somerset are in group A while PHC, Devonshire Cougars and Boulevard make up group B, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
