Outerbridge and Cann look for three wins

Strong start: Ryan Outerbridge has two wins in the cross-country race series

Ryan Outerbridge and Shayla Cann have a chance to make it three wins out of three when the Bermuda National Athletics Association Cross Country series heads to Fort Scaur for the third race on Saturday.

Outerbridge won the under-17 races at the Arboretum and Chaplin Bay to lead the series ahead of Iziah Tucker and Alex Southern, who were second and third in the first race. Cann has two wins in the under-14 girls.

The Chaplin Bay race on August 13 saw Tommy Marshall, Sancho Smith, Nirobi Smith-Mills and Kahzi Sealy finish in that order behind Outerbridge while Tucker and Southern placed sixth and seventh.

Kayla Raymond and Marion Cheverau are the top two under-17 girls after Raymond won the first race and Cheverau the second after finishing second to Raymond at the Arboretum. Raymond did not compete in the second race.

Macy Aicardi and Ariel Taylor lead the under-20 girls while Johndell Cumberbatch leads the under-20 boys after two wins.

Jayson Simons leads the under-14 boys series after winning the first race and then finishing runner-up to Ade Hart in the second.

Jaeda Grant and Masaki Kitade are the top pair in the under-12 girls and boys while Amaris Munya and Luca Bortoli lead the under-10s.

In the Open women, Dalila Monterrosa and Jaylynn Hines are tied for first while Nathan Trott leads the Open Men ahead of Teddy Shum and Andrew Simons.

Deanna Didyk leads the Masters women ahead of Tamika Miranda, Charmaine Thomas and Laurie Orchard who are tied for second, while Damian Gold is ahead of Omari Hart and Colm Homan in the Masters men’s division.

Mairi Redmond led the Senior Masters women ahead of Victoria Fiddick and Susan Jackson while Tony Riker, Sean Kelly and David Brown are the top three in the Senior Masters men.

In the 60 and over women category, Lisa Ferrari leads with Edwina Arorash second and Florence Sharpe third while Mike Whalley and Mike Rickards are first and second in the 70 and over men. Eddie Fisher is the lone competitor in the over 60 men.
