A new publication designed to promote winter vacations on the island has been published by the Bermuda Tourism Authority.

The Out Here This Winter guide, available online and at visitor information centres, features winter adventures including golf courses and spas, horseback riding, whale watching and hiking.

The new guide also includes tips on how to get around the island, a ferry schedule and a calendar of events including the Bermuda Festival, the Bermuda International Film Festival and Restaurant Weeks.

A BTA spokesman said the 21-page guide was part of the National Tourism Plan strategy to “better define and promote Bermuda’s four seasons because our temperate climate is far gentler than where most of our visitors come from in the northeast United States, Canada and the UK”.

The BTA has also created a new winter season section on GoToBermuda.com, including a kiteboarding feature to highlight Bermuda as a “kiteboarder’s playground” in January and February.
