West End roadworks to continue during rush hour

Paving works on a road in the West End will continue through rush hour this afternoon, the Ministry of Public Works and Environment warned.

Planned roadwork on Somerset Road near Scaur Hill in Sandys was delayed this morning following some equipment failure.

A spokesman told the public that work will continue into the area’s anticipated 4pm rush hour.

Motorists were asked to proceed with caution and to prepare for some delays.

The spokesman added: “The ministry thanks the public for their patience and co-operation as it works to address the road surface issue.”
