Newest inductees to student body

New batch: The CedarBridge Academy Student Government Association

Where excellence is valued and where they cultivate Bermuda’s achievers, CedarBridge Academy’s Student Government Association (SGA) inducted students from all year levels, S1 — S4, in officer and representative positions.

The induction ceremony took place in the Ruth Seaton James Theatre.

The ceremony included the reading of the purpose of SGA which is to be the voice of the student body and to foster leadership development. The ceremony also included remarks from the school’s principal, Mrs Kalmar Richards, deputy principal, Ms Rosemary Matthews, and SGA advisers, Mrs Khandice Darrell, Ms Anya Thompson, and Mrs Maxine Webb.

Destinee Taylor will be the SGA president for the 2014—2015 academic year, with Aminah Simmons and Maya Palacio serving as vice presidents. Treasurer is Niambi Landy. Secretary is Husna Farooqui and Recording Secretary is Esmeralda Zanders. Financial Secretary is Jayla Burt and Parliamentarian is Kevonte’ Jennings-Lathan. Historians are Brianna Pacheco and Jonathan Simons. Publicists are Cree Lottimore and Kiantae’ Smith. S1 President is Saige Ming while S1 Class Representatives are Jonathan Simons and Sequay Darrell. S2 President is Israel Bennett while S2 Representatives are Yhanelia Campbell, Kaisha Simons and X-onna Lowe-Stevens. S3 President is Kevonte’ Jennings-Lathan while the S3 Representatives are Jayla Burt and Ore Bademosi. S4 President is Nicole Santos while S4 representatives are Aaliyah Cole, Jasmin Bacabac and Diana Arruda.

Also, the committee chairperson positions are held by Que-Sjonah Outerbridge, Lysmeiri Hererra, Allison Seymour, Aaliyah Cole, Kayla Virgil-Darrell, and Ore Bademosi.

All officers pledged to uphold the high purposes of SGA and to maintain and encourage high standards of service, leadership, citizenship and character.
