Ms Cindy Simmons-Bean coordinates the Power of One programme at TN Tatem Middle School. It is an empowerment leadership development programme for students.

The programme endeavours to encourage or deter antisocial behaviours, encourage greater parent support, set individual goals for students, encourages the students to be their best and meet common core standards. There are four different stages that the team works on.

They are self-esteem, empowerment, tools for success and engagement.

The Power of One students wished to give back to the community for families in need.

The students came up with Christmas gifts which they donated to Family Services.

Last Friday the Power of One gave the teachers at TN Tatem a surprise appreciation luncheon. The teachers were served lunch by the students followed by goodie bags to say thank you for all that they do at TN Tatem.
