Reducing speed key to stopping accidents

Voicing concerns: Everett Gibson can recall one too many major accidents right on his doorstep

Dear Sir,

While I sympathise with Everett Gibson, who has had at least three accidents at his property, he is calling for road improvements to prevent further accidents.

Unfortunately, sir, the problem is the speed, which I have been on about for years. Maybe we need to return to the old cart-track style of road, where one can travel only at 5km/h.

Until the authorities take the bull by the horns and become more proactive on reducing speed by installing traffic cameras and having motorcycle patrols, we will continue with the carnage on our roads. It staggers me to see the number of damaged walls around the island and the number of wooden fences destroyed.

Once again, I feel like a broken record, but if I had one, I don’t know what I would do with it.
