Dear Sir,

Please allow me to write an open letter to dog walkers island-wide and especially those who regularly use West Side Road.

I am sick and tired of seeing large mounds of dog waste littering the roadway.

It is not only disgusting to see, it is unsanitary and one has to walk in the middle of the road to avoid it.

There have been times I have seen it left on homeowners’ front lawns.

Can you then imagine what happens when the lawnmower comes along? Talk about the s*** hitting the fan! Would you like the same thing on your front lawn? I think not.

If you are an offender and have the time to walk your (very large) animal, then do the right thing and pick up your animal’s faeces so that my animals do not get “interested” in it.

Biodegradable bags for safe pick-up can be purchased from the pet stores; please avail yourself of them, and thank you.

Tired of walking eyes down and sidestepping.
