Title in sight . . . but we won't be complacent
The Premier Division title is now in North Village's hands and only we can throw it away.
There are just two games of the season remaining and I can assure you the players are determined to see the job through to the very end.
We know Dandy Town are still breathing down our necks and are only one point behind us, so there's still all to play for.
If we were the 'chasers' we'd certainly make them earn the title and they'll be no different; Hornets still believe they can knock us off top spot before the end of the season and we can ill afford any slip-ups.
That being said, these are exciting times for Village. The players are really enjoying training, listening to the information we are giving them and implementing it when it comes to matchday.
They are fully focussed on the final push and these are the games you want to play in, they mean something as they will determine the outcome of the championship.
I feel as though there has been a lot of growth this season. Sure, we have to keep repeating some of the information to the players but some of the stuff is naturally ingrained in their games now.
The way Village's young players have performed has been really encouraging for me. I've given about four guys their senior debuts this season and they have all passed the test with flying colours.
Earlier in the season it was a blow to lose two experienced players, Keith Jennings (Southampton Rangers) and Jared Peniston (Dandy Town) – two consistent players.
But Village have never gone out and scouted players and rely on bringing our own guys through the youth system.
Keith and Jared's departures opened the door for guys like Jason Lee, Jonathan Briers, Terryn Fray and Justin Sousa, to name a few, to come in and make a name for themselves.
If a player is good enough he will get a chance with me.
It's just of case of knowing when to take them out and give them a rest.
These young players have gone and grabbed the bull by the horns and taken the opportunity and I've been really impressed with all of them.
I'm sure there must be other guys their age looking at them in Village's first team and thinking, 'why am I not in the first team at my club'.
My guys have done really well and I can't speak more highly of them. Hopefully they will keep their maturity for the remainder of the season.
There's still much to play for but it's shaping up to be a good first full season for me as Village's head coach.
We've won the Dudley Eve, are in the final of the Friendship Trophy and are top of the league.
I'm not too fussed about any critics I my have but once you become a coach I know only too well that you are there to be shot at.
The only people I'm bothered about impressing are the Village president, the players, coaching staff and our supporters.
Everyone else, I'm not bothered about because they are not invested in Village.
