Bermuda ended their campaign in the ninth World Junior Squash Championships on a sour note yesterday when they lost to Cyprus and Singapore by 3-0 margins in
Despite great efforts from all team members Bermuda produced some decent performances in the second stage of the team events and the competition obviously proved to be a valuable learning experience.
All members except Nick Kyme and Michael Stout fly back home today, with Kyme and Stout going directly to the Cayman Islands to participate in the Junior Caribbean Area Squash Championships which runs until August 3.
The team will be short of two players in the under-19 category but are nevertheless looking forward to this regional competition as a further step in their squash development.
SOCCER SOC Pro-Landscaping won the St. George's Cricket Club's six-a-side knockout tournament after a calculated gamble by sponsor Ronnie Denbrook paid off in the final against St. George's All-Stars on Wednesday evening.
Regular goalkeeper Denbrook was moved to sweeper while Anthony Darrell went into goal. This moved tightened up the defence and with striker Del Tyrell in deadly form they gained revenge for league losses to champions St. David's Gold and the All-stars.
Tyrell scored four goals, and set up the winner for Denbrook who clinched the title with a superb goal.
On Wednesday a make-up game will see Pro-Landscaping taking on ASB at 6 p.m.
Wolves will hold a senior training session tomorrow morning at Elliott School field starting at 9.30 a.m. All players are asked to attend.
Hamilton Parish are asking all senior players and others interested in joining the team to attend an important meeting at the club at 9.30 tomorrow morning.
RUNNING RUN Swan's Running Club will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday at the Department of Youth and Sports starting at 5.45 p.m.
On the agenda will be the upcoming annual general meeting and the August social events.
