Police probing spate of weekend robberies
Police are investigating a spate of thefts that occurred at the weekend.
Several items of jewellery, including two gold and white diamond tennis bracelets and two gold rings encrusted with stones, were stolen from a house on Barrack Close, St. George's on Friday.
The sneak thief entered the property some time during the day while the occupants were out and stole the jewellery after searching through the bedroom.
Also on Friday a thief walked off with a pair of size 12 construction boots which were stolen from The Shoe Centre on Court Street. The thief asked to try on the boots and, when the shop assistant was distracted, ran out of the store and escaped on a motorcycle.
The thief is described as being dark skinned, tall and wearing sunglasses.
A reminder to car owners to keep their vehicles secure has been issued after a camera was stolen from a car parked at the rear of Miles supermarket in Hamilton.
The owner had left the vehicle unlocked with the Olympus camera left invitingly on the rear seat. When he returned to the vehicle he discovered the camera had been stolen.
A microwave oven was stolen from the Seventh Day Adventist Church on King Street, Hamilton on Friday night.
And the theft of jewellery from a Cavendish Road, Pembroke, home was reported to Police on Saturday morning. The jewellery was last seen by the female complainant on February 26 but on Friday evening she noticed that several expensive pieces had been taken.
Among the items stolen were a Bermuda one dollar gold coin pendant, a smoky topaz oval shaped pendant, a gold Christmas tree pin, a gold fitted dinghy broach, a gold leaf earring, a gold earring with a hanging Longtail, and an aquamarine ring.
