Aquarium to hold Zoo Doo day

Aquarium principal curator Mr. Richard Winchell invites the public to join in the activities and spend the day. Food and drink will be available.

YOUTHFUL PUBLIC SPEAKER VISITS CHU Youthful public speaker visits A 15 year-old Arkansas boy takes the stage tomorrow to conduct evening meetings to encourage adults, parents and children to live a clean life and follow the words of the Bible.

Prodigy Ross Harris, from the town of Rogers, was due to arrive on the island yesterday and will speak tomorrow at Devonshire Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Other speaking engagement are to follow.

A church release said Ross has addressed audiences in South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia and across North America.

Youth and Sport Minister the Hon. Sen. Pamela Gordon will officially greet Ross on his arrival. Also with Sen. Gordon at Friday's meeting will be Shadow Minister for Youth and Sport Mr. Dennis Lister and National Liberal Party leader Mr. Gilbert Darrell.

CRICKET BAT ATTACK PROBED BY POLICE CRM Cricket bat attack probed by police Police are hunting attackers who hit a man with a cricket bat and kicked him in the face.

The attack took place at around 4 p.m. on Monday afternoon on Curving Avenue, Pembroke, after an argument. The victim was hit over the head with a cricket bat by one man, and when he fell to the ground another man kicked him in the face.

The victim was treated in hospital for a cut head and broken nose, and later discharged.

DEAF MINISTRY WILL VISIT PHILADELPHIA CHU Deaf Ministry will visit Philadelphia The St. Paul AME Deaf Ministry, which provides an interpreting service for the deaf, has been invited by Bishop of the AME First District in the United States, the Rt. Rev. Frank C. Cummings, to minister in the district's planning sessions in Philadelphia.

"It is the first time that the deaf ministry of St. Paul AME has been invited to such a prestigious event,'' a church spokeswoman said yesterday.

To assist the deaf ministry in their travels to Philadelphia, a Gospel Explosion '92 was held at the Centennial Hall on May 30.

And on June 13 a gospel concert featuring guest artist Ms Juanita Walters, the lead soloist of the Philadelphia AME mass choir, and her accompanist Ms Eloise Hamm will be held at Centennial Hall. This event is under the patronage of Rev. and Mrs. Malcolm Eve.

POLICE ARREST MAN AFTER STREET FIGHT CRM Police arrest man after street fight A Court Street struggle with Police officers on Tuesday night resulted in an 18-year-old Pembroke man being arrested and scheduled for an appearance in Magistrates' Court.

Police yesterday said the man became violent when they attempted to detain him.

"A struggle took place where Police assistance was called. He eventually was restrained and will be appearing in court at a later date.'' INTRUDER AWAKENS SLEEPING WOMAN CRM Intruder awakens sleeping woman A woman asleep in her Devonshire home was woken at midnight by an intruder rummaging at the foot of her bed.

The man told her he was a relative, but she realised he was a stranger and jumped out of bed, at which he ran off.

Nothing was stolen in the break-in, at Stadium Lane, Devonshire on Monday night.
