Board revises transfer policy

Players moving to new clubs during the late transfer period will not now have to wait six weeks to play, the Bermuda Cricket Board has confirmed.

The change is one of the Cricket Committee recommendations relating to the domestic league that have been ratified by the BCB Executive ahead of the 2015 season.

Previously players seeking a transfer after the initial deadline — end of March this year — would have had to wait for six week before playing, but now those players will be allowed to play for their new club straight away.

There will also be a second late transfer for players who are seeking a move after playing up to three matches with their club.

That application has to be made by the final business day before Cup Match. The intention, say the Board, is to facilitate their goal of allowing cricketers to play more cricket.

In another move, Clubs that have not paid their 2015 dues and their 2014 umpire fees by June 12 will be deducted 13 league points. Clubs are required to register their home field with the BCB by March 9 and failure to register on time will see the clubs having to pay a late registration fee of $200.
