MCS expands into Canada
A Bermuda technology company, MCS Ltd., has announced it has opened offices in Canada and has nearly doubled its staff.
The company, a leading information management software business which was set up 20 years ago, has spent the past eight months expanding and now boasts offices not only in Bermuda, but also Halifax and Toronto.
Rob Burns, president of MCS, said: "Over the past eight months, the company has increased from 17 to 30 partners and professional staff and now operate offices in Bermuda, Halifax and Toronto. The corporate culture is a nice fit and offers staff greater career development opportunities."
Kent MacLean, vice president of business development, said that the expansion was based on a collaborative effort between management and staff in a bid to give clients a wider range of expertise.
He added: "As the client's comprehension of technology increases, so too does their demand for specialised software solutions that meet their individual needs."
Mr. MacLean said that MCS manages clients in Canada, the US, Cayman Islands, Barbados, Ireland, Isle of Mann and Anguilla in sectors as broad as reinsurance, wealth management, technology, professional services and government.
The company also said that Microsoft has announced that MCS has been placed in the Microsoft Business Solutions 'Inner Circle', what MCS described as "the most prestigious partner recognition from Microsoft Business Solutions".
"This title places MCS in the top one percent of Microsoft's Worldwide Business Partners," said the company in a Press release.
Mr. Burns said: "We are honoured to receive this recognition from Microsoft Business Solutions as Inner Circle partner. We have diligently focused over the past year to successfully build new partnerships and strengthen relationships with existing clients. One of the fundamental reasons that MCS continues to grow and be successful is our belief that our relationship with clients is a 'partnership' and their success is our success ? this is the cornerstone of MCS."
