The following was sent to Mr. Allen Trew, Hotel Manager, The Fairmont Southampton Princess, and copied to The Royal Gazette.*J>Dear Mr. Trew,During this past Easter season my husband and I had the good fortune of spending five days at The Fairmont Southampton Princess, and I would like to commend you upon your beautiful hotel and the fine staff you have to accommodate your guests. I would especially like to compliment Malcolm who serves at the concierge desk. He was most helpful (my husband inadvertently left his suit on the plane and Malcolm very graciously came to our rescue!), and is a true asset to the hotel. I also would like to thank Mia who is on your staff at the Waterlot Inn. She is so personable, and went well beyond the call of duty by accompanying me from the dining room to the hotel shuttle in the rain holding the umbrella for me!
I should add that all the services were remarkable — the meals at your various dining rooms were excellent and all so well served, the cleanliness and tidiness exceptional, our room which was newly and tastefully decorated overlooking the golf course and the sea was luxurious, the grounds and gardens beautifully maintained, and the hotel shuttle and ferry a bonus for our transportation.
I know how very challenging the hospitality business is and how difficult it is to meet the needs and wants of your guests but you are not only meeting those expectations but surpassing them. To this end, we again thank you for a wonderful holiday, and for the warmth, friendliness and kind hospitality of everyone in your outstanding hotel on your beautiful island.
