Defending champions Devonshire Cougars were held to a no score draw against Boulevard Blazers at Devonshire Rec. last night.

The disappointing result for the Big Cats puts a massive dent in their title hopes with PHC almost within grasp of the coveted trophy.

Cougars only had themselves to blame against Blazers and missed two first-half chances through pacey winger Domico Coddington and skipper Kwame Steede.

Coddington had the best chance of the game but he managed to drag his shot wide when well set.

Bermuda skipper Steede then almost broke the deadlock when he latched onto a diagonal ball, catching the Blazers defence asleep.

But Steede's first touch let him down, allowing Boulevard's back-line to recover in time to thwart the danger.

Boulevard battled well throughout the game, which was temporarily delayed because of floodlight failure, but could not find the final ball to ever really threaten Cougars.

Premier Division teams will be vying for their own individual goals as the season tomorrow as the season comes to a close.

Tabletoppers PHC Zebras go head-to-head against relegation favourites Ireland Rangers with the title almost within their sights. But with Ireland Rangers trying to add points to their paltry tally, there's plenty at stake.

"Anybody is beatable on any given day", said Rangers defender John Martin. "We will see on the day how the script plays out".

With Rangers in desperate need of the three points, the defender knows that an early goal for the visitors is key.

"Our main focus is to get the first goal", Martin said. "If we can get the first goal and set the tempo for the remainder of the game we should be able to carry three points back to Dockyard."

North Village will be looking to add misery to Somerset Trojans' turbulent season by condemning them to 12.30 p.m. football next year. And with Trojans not in the mood to lay down just yet, the clash could be a feisty affair.

In tomorrow's encounter, Dandy Town meet with Devonshire Colts at Police Field.

The Hornets, who are three points above Trojans, can take some solace knowing that the teams below them are playing the league's powerhouses.

Devonshire Colts, on the other hand, have solidified their status for next year and will be attempting to defend their FA Cup title in the upcoming weeks.
