Heavy trading on BSX
Trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange rose once again last week, boosted by unusually large sales of Bermuda Commercial Bank, BF&M, KeyTech and Belco shares.
Even stocks that barely move from year to year changed hands, with Long Botham Boats, the owners of Henry VIII and Robin Hood, trading 200 shares at $4.30 - a dip of 20 cents and 500 Watlington Wateworks stocks trading up 30 percent or $1.50 at $6.50.
Bank of Bermuda, which lightly trades on the index since it floated on Nasdaq, saw the largest change in price, rising $1.75 to close at $35 on a volume of 900 stocks.
Bank of Butterfield also closed up, rising 50 cents to finish at $33.75. Other increases included BF&M, up 25 cents to $10.25, Belco, up 75 cents to $32.75 and KeyTech, up 10 cents to $10.35. Argus lost 50 cents to close at $19.00.
The index closed up 70.098 points or 2.89 percent on a volume of 29,412 shares worth $425,663.65.
