Bailey sets up Bray clash
Michael Lindsay Bailey defeated Hamish McCallum 6-4, 6-3 to set up a quarter-final match against top seed Andy Bray at the annual Argus Open on Tuesday.
Also in the Men's A Singles, unseeded Jacob Trott had a close second set against Romar Douglas when he took Trott to a tie breaker.
Trott held on and eventually won 6-2, 7-6 (7-4). Next he faces the number three seed David Thomas.
Top seed in the Ladies' B Singles, Ciara Svenson, continued her winning streak in a battle of the cross-court forehands to defeat Charmaine Thomas 6-0, 6-3. Svenson will now face the winner of number two seed Midge Oliver or Suzie Wakefield.
In the Mixed Doubles Open, Jackie Lambert and Nicholas Butterfield won a three-set thriller against Danielle Wright and Michael Toyer.
The match went back and forth with Lambert and Butterfield winning 7-6(7-5), 3-6, 6-4.
