Knockout first-round match after admitting this week they fielded three
Association.
Sandys, who beat WIA by 61 runs in the inaugural League Cup final by 61 runs the previous week, squeezed home with eight balls to spare in Sunday's match at the Royal Naval Field.
Sandys' skipper Terry Corday later admitted to league officials, following a protest to the league by WIA skipper Ken Savoury, that three long-standing club members -- Anthony DeSilva, Ray DeSilva and Maurice Simons -- were not eligible.
Under league rules players must play at least two matches for their club in the current season to be eligible to play in the Knockout competition.
Anthony DeSilva played a key role in Sandys' victory, hitting 39 not out from 27 balls in an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 78 with Terry Ward, who made 57 not out.
The league executive, by a majority decision, ordered Sandys to replay the match but switched home advantage to WIA. The game will now be played at Garrison field, St. George's, tomorrow.
The replay means Devonshire Stars will have to wait another week to play the winners in the semifinals.
Sunday's other semifinal, between holders Forties and last season's beaten finalists North Village, will go ahead as planned at Nationals.
GOLF GLF The Heineken's Tourney will be held at Belmont Golf Club tomorrow. Hosts Old Colony Club are among seven who will be competing, the others being Warwick Workman's Club, Police Recreation Club, East End Mini Yacht Club, National Sports Club, Spanish Point Boat Club, and Sandys Boat Club.
All players are asked to be at Belmont by 7.30 a.m. for tee allocations and instructions.
The Bermuda Junior Golf Association's assessment wills be held at Port Royal on September 18, between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Youngsters between the ages of eight and 13 are urged to report on time with their own clubs.
